Today I was talking to my Spanish teacher about how cool his bracelets are because they are made out of recycled tires. I really like recycled stuff like my recycled binder and my recycled pencil pouch, or even my recycled pens. Then I thought: How come it is so easy to throw a simple water bottle (empty of course) into the recycling bin, but so hard to give my change to the Salvation Army people outside of Walmart? I mean, seriously, I am willing to do something to 'save the planet' but it's hard for me to help save the world? I am not talking about the world as in the ground or the air, but the people. Aren't the people more important? Being a Christian, I shouldn't be selfish with my money, or my time, and I shouldn't be selfish with GOD'S LOVE. God loved and still loves us. He made us in His image, so why is it so hard to love one another? We all struggle with this, sometimes, or even all the time. We are so quick to point the finger, or judge others, especially those who don't love us.
Luke 6:32-33 NLT " If you love only those who love you, why should you get credit for that? Even sinners love those who love them! And if you do good only to those who do good to you, why should you get credit? Even sinners do that much!"
I am not saying that we need to donate thousands of dollars to charities or to the homeless (although they would appreciate it) but I think what we really need to do is love each other. How? We can all do the little things, like SMILE! Can it get any easier than smiling at someone? Or doing the chores when you are asked to (I struggle with this). What is something simple we can do today to show the world/the people around us God's love?
Reducing your love? </3 or recycling it? <3 <3 <3
